The Gromling Surf Shack
Surfing faery folk that have found a new groove
Who are the Gromlings?
The Gromlings are distant cousins of the Cornish Pixie.
At some point in the long forgotten past a common ancestor to the Cornish pixie and the modern day Gromling would have gone their separate ways. Their children and their children’s children would have ventured off, finding their own path. Over time slowly evolving into the adorable yellow critters you will find on these pages.
Now the Gromlings spend their time surfing and enjoying life, as they act as guardians to the coastline to the Island of Nabotoo, home of the Mythical Rainbow Tree.
The history of the Gromlings tell of a group that settled on an island of Nabotoo. The Gromlings, whose wings fell off when their ancestors lost the need for them as they spent more and more time in the water surfing waves.
Their Island home can be found if you travel from our world, just off the Cornish coast of Britain, through to a different dimension.
If, under the light of the moon, you are brave enough to traverse the stretch of water in front of Block Rock along Widemouth bay near Bude, in Cornwall. And if good fortune favours you, then you will pass through to an archipelago in the realm of Faery. Here you will first come across Nabotoo island, where you will find Gromlings surfing night and day.
This is just one of many islands, that is home to many ‘gatherings’ of Gromlings. As a chain of islands lay behind, with other surfing Gromling families, and many other mysteries to be found.
Switching between Faery and Cornwall, (and of course these days often popping over for a pasty, some clotted cream fudge and an ice cream, which are a Gromlings favourite food,) The gromlings soaked up the sun, absorbing the rays over countless years from both there time surfing waves along the Cornish coast and on the coastline of Nabotoo, they slowly adapted to this new beach life turning yellow in the process, and leaving blue piskie life behind them. They had stopped buzzing around and causing mischief and found a new love of life. They had truly evolved.
The Gromlings now spend there time surfing the waves and having a good time. Having also become unintentional guardians of the coastline to this place of wonder, they live their life in sun kissed bliss.
Not only are there more Gatherings of Gromlings on the other islands. There are also more ancestral cousins to be found elsewhere in and outside of the realm of Faery. No doubt with differences unique to them as they evolved in their own unique way.
