This is what I used to call out as a child in my the local parks. Back then I would see them scamper back and forth. You sadly won’t see that now.

But thanks to initiatives throughout the UK such as the red squirrel project here in Cornwall they are making a comeback

Red Squirrel fey spirit

A majestic and now rarely seen creature, the Red squirrel has a darker side.

If there is a tortured or troubled soul. Then you may, if your travel there, see it’s shadow imprinted within the faery realm. This is a manifestation of how the creature is feeling and the energy sears through words. It might look terrifying. But then fear usually does.

This is the Fey Red Squirrel or Red Scarel, which embodies the fear deep within the Red Squirrels of our own word, as its existence is threatened.
